Each region has local supports that may include resource closets, community organizations, family support events, training opportunities, and connection points for foster families.

Regions 1 & 2

North Idaho

Serving families in northern Idaho, including communities across Boundary, Bonner, Kootenai, Benewah, Shoshone, Latah, Clearwater, Nez Perce, Lewis, and Idaho counties.

  • Village of Hope CDA: Provides tangible support for children in foster care and the families caring for them, including foster parent nights out, journey bags, and community support.
  • Fosterful: Partners with child welfare offices and volunteers to support children entering care and assist with community events and resource needs.
Regions 3 & 4

West Idaho / Treasure Valley

Serving families across the Treasure Valley and surrounding communities, including Adams, Washington, Payette, Gem, Canyon, Owyhee, Valley, Boise, Ada, and Elmore counties.

  • Fosterful: Supports children and child welfare offices through qualified volunteers, placement support, and community event assistance.
  • Foster + Heart: Provides essentials and practical support for children entering care and the families welcoming them.
  • The Wardrobe: Provides customized clothing support at no charge for Idaho youth in foster and kinship care.
  • JEM Friends: Supports youth aging out of foster care through housing, life skills, hope, and community.
Region 5

Magic Valley

Serving families in Blaine, Camas, Gooding, Lincoln, Jerome, Minidoka, Twin Falls, and Cassia counties.

  • Regional support: Families can connect with local foster care support opportunities, recruitment and retention events, and community resources in the Magic Valley area.
  • Community connection: Local organizations and community partners may offer practical supports, resource events, or family encouragement opportunities.
Regions 6 & 7

East Idaho

Serving families across eastern Idaho, including Power, Bannock, Bingham, Oneida, Caribou, Bear Lake, Franklin, Lemhi, Custer, Clark, Butte, Jefferson, Fremont, Madison, Teton, and Bonneville counties.

  • The Village: A foster care closet serving southeastern Idaho with essential care and comfort items for children in foster and kinship care.
  • Idaho Foster and Adoptive Parent Association: Offers advocacy, training, support, and connection for foster, adoptive, and kinship families.

Available resources vary by region, but many communities offer practical help, connection, encouragement, and events that help foster families keep showing up with care.
